Almost a million euros worth of hashish has been found floating in the Guadiana river, near the Odeleite river mouth, last Sunday (January 19).
The drug, weighing almost a ton-and-a-half and packed in 48 separate bales, is thought to have been jettisoned from a boat that Spanish authorities started tracking last week, revealed the GNR authorities.
The boat has since been found abandoned on the Spanish side of the river. As yet no one has been apprehended.
