Middle aged New Yorker Harvey Milk moves to San Francisco, comes out of the closet and opens what is to become the most popular gay salon in the city but his journey does not end there.

Based on the true story of Harvey Milk, the film follows his life from the age of 40 as he begins his fight for Gay Rights in the US and uses gay purchasing power to push the political agenda during the 1970s.
