AS PART of the celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the parachuting troops, a military parachuting tournament will take place in Albufeira this weekend (July 2 and 3). This is the biggest event of its kind nationally and one of the largest to take place in the Iberian peninsular. Points gained here by the participants will count towards the Taça de Portugal (Portuguese Cup). The Falcões Negros (Black Falcons), the world champions of precision parachute jumping, will be demonstrating their skills, and the event is sure to thrill thousands of spectators.
