Miles of swims

One of the regular winter clients at the Hotel Garbe, Mrs Bess Nelson, recently completed a three-and-a-half mile swim in the heated pool at the hotel, which qualifies her for the 60-mile Swimfit Award. Long time Armação de Pêra visitor Bess is a member of the Adult Swimming Association and holds the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond awards from the association. At just 79 years young, Bess from Lee-on-Solent has been swimming for many years and continues to swim throughout the year whenever possible. “It keeps me young and fit,” said Bess on achieving her latest goal.
