The director of Michael Jackson: This is it documentary, Kenny Ortega, said the documentary came about as an accident after private footage of the rehearsals for the 50 London concerts was pieced together.
Kenny, also the choreographer for the shows, revealed that the footage was never intended to be released to the public but was destined for Michael’s private library.
After getting messages from fans asking to see the rehearsals for the shows, he realised he had to make the documentary to show the development and intentions of the show that his fans were so eager to see before his untimely death in June.
Kenny also revealed the 50-year-old superstar was progressively getting healthier and wasn’t relying on drugs as he practiced for the mammoth 50-date-set at London’s O2 arena
