Visitors to Porto’s Praça Guilherme Gomes Fernandes cannot be squeamish. Since the summer, the popular spot sporting eateries and bars, has been “invaded” by mice.
They reportedly emerge from the base of a tree, “look left and right and then make a run for it”, racing across the cobbles, and causing certain clients on outdoor esplanades to feel distinctly uncomfortable.
The council says it has ‘effected a de-mousing’, but that occasional sightings of mice “are inevitable”.
