The small village of Mexilhoeira Grande will host the 14th edition of its local ‘Arts and Flavours’ show (Mostra de Artes e Sabores) this weekend (August 8 and 9).
Taking place in front of the local church, the event will feature a variety of regional delicacies including “cakes, sweets, jams, honey and typical Algarve snacks”. Regional wines and liqueurs also feature on the “menu”.
But the event isn’t just about food. It will also feature a variety of artworks and handicrafts by local artists, as well as musical performances by folklore dancing groups, singers and bands in the evening.
Doors open at 6pm on Saturday and 4pm on Sunday.
Admission is free.
