Over a period of just two days, metal thieves stole 15 water meters from properties in the district of Loulé.
On Thursday last week, a total of 10 were removed during the hours of darkness and five more were taken the following morning in another area a few kilometres away.
The thieves use special cutting equipment and a blow torch to disconnect the meters which they then try to sell to scrap yards.
