Rotary Club Estoi Palace International handed out the certificates
For the last 10 years, Rotary Club Estoi Palace International (RCEPI) has given Merit Certificates to recognise the efforts of the best three students of each grade between 5th and 9th grade at Escola Poeta Emiliano da Costa in Estoi. These were given to the students on Wednesday, April 27. The top students will be going to a summer camp at a later date.
Following the ceremony, RCEPI members attended a lunch at the school prepared by the catering students. A welcome cocktail drink, enthusiastically mixed by the pupils, awaited them.
Members were treated to a superb three-course meal where everything had been prepared from scratch by the students under the watchful eye of their teacher. They also served the meal, attentive to every detail.
“It was good practice for them and a great experience for us,” said a spokesperson for RCEPI.
The funds raised from the meal will go towards purchasing a commercial dishwasher for the school.
