Grocery || Portimão’s organic grocery store Mercearia Bio has announced a series of activities and competitions for the coming weeks.
Throughout September and October, the grocery store, located on the town’s riverside near Decathlon, will be holding three cooking workshops – each of them focusing on a particular ingredient.
Starting this Saturday (September 20), you can learn how to cook with tofu, followed by workshops on cooking with quinoa – seeds which can be prepared like whole grain – on October 4 and with celery and celeriac on October 18.
The demonstrations, which cost €15 per person, will be led by Chef Augusto Lima from Faro’s Tertúlia Algarvia restaurant and will take place at the grocery’s café from 2.30pm.
Merceria Bio is also launching online competitions entitled ‘How Much is this Hamper Worth?’
The store will post a picture of a hamper with an assortment of items on its Facebook page and online store and the first person to guess the exact amount it is worth wins it.
