Organisers held out until ‘the last minute’ but they have been forced to scrap plans for this year’s MEO Sudoeste festival to have been held in August near Zambujeira do Mar, Odemira. The event has now been moved to the same time in 2022. Explain reports, the organisation had hoped the test events carried out earlier in the year in Braga, Coimbra and Lisbon would pave the way for Covid-safe festivals this summer. But authorities have simply failed to ‘give out the results’ and thus one by one plans for these events have had to bite the bullet for a second year running.
