The disparity between monthly wages for men and women in Portugal has increased, according to an official report from the Comissão para a Cidadania e Igualdade de Género (Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality). Depending on their professional qualifications and job status, in high-ranking positions women can earn on average €800 less each month than men.
