The Algarve Resident is delighted to invite you, our readers, clients and contributors, to its first ever open day at the Enova Group showroom in Lagos on Sturday, June 13.

Come along and meet our dedicated team as well as our many long standing and new contributors while enjoying a glass of wine between 10am and 3pm.

Paul McKay, author of the comic tales entitled A Year in Monchique, and Sheila Watts, author of Practical Portuguese and Progress with Portuguese, will also be at the event to sign their books and speak to readers.

There will also be a chance to win a fantastic top of the range laptop courtesy of the Enova Group!

A selected number of companies will also be joining the Algarve Resident to bring you a diverse range of quality products and services, offering special deals and prices on that day only.

Two members of LuzDoc’s international medical service, Nikki Medlock and Fernanda Correia, will be on hand to provide free cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure checks as well as advice about their services.

Other businesses will include Cool Oasis, which will be showcasing its water filtration solutions for homes and businesses, Medal Insurance, which will be offering advice and insurance policies, Barclays Bank, expert garden company Jardim Vista and WIS International which will be offering advice on data checking.

Furniture specialists Moveison will also be displaying their wide range of outdoor furniture as well as demonstrating their barbecues by cooking up the charity lunch in aid of NECI, the Lagos school for children with special needs. The food is kindly being supplied by the Baptista Supermarket in Praia da Luz.

Visitors will also be able to taste delicious smoked produce provided by Fumeiro do Algarve.

Algarve Resident editor Inês Lopes said: “It has been a very interesting experience organising this event as companies have responded so positively to our invitation. I think business owners are, more than ever now, thinking outside of the box and are very open to innovative ideas to promote their businesses. The Algarve Resident Open Day offers them just that.” She added: “The bright and spacious premises of the Enova Group are the ideal venue for this event and visitors on the day will be able to benefit from the varied selection of products and services available as well as join us for lunch and raise funds for NECI. All our staff are really looking forward to welcoming everyone on the day.”

Maria Eduarda Santos, President of NECI, said: “We are very grateful of the Algarve Resident’s initiative and will be using the funds raised for our residential home project.”

She added: “Many of our students have ageing parents who are worried about what will happen to their disabled children in the future, so we are working on a project to build a home for them.”
