The Mediterranean Gardening Association-Portugal (MGAP), in partnership with the University of Évora and Sementes of Portugal, is holding an International Spring Conference on the weekend of April 6 and 7, from 9am to 1pm in Évora.
Entitled ‘Bringing the Mediterranean Landscape into Your Garden – New trends in landscaping design’, the event will take place over the two days.
On April 6, at Auditoria, Colégio Espírito Santo, University of Évora, participants will be able to listen to Olivier Filippi, who will talk about creating drought-tolerant gardens, and James and Helen Basson, who have established a reputation for creating low-maintenance dry gardens that combine contemporary design with traditional expertise.
Cost is €25.
On April 7, at the Hotel M’Ar De Ar Muralhas, Dr. Paulo Farinha-Marques, director of the Botanical Garden of Porto, will give a presentation, followed by Paula Maria Simões, landscape architect at the University of Évora, and Marilyn Medina Ribeiro, designer of professional gardens, who will talk about sustainable gardening. Cost is €20.
The talks will be in English with Portuguese speakers present to answer any questions.
