A medieval festival is taking place in Castro Marim until Sunday.
The Eastern Algarve town is the stage for jesters, jokers and kings in a celebration which culminates in a banquet at the castle every night.
Contortionists, jugglers and magicians will entertain spectators as a daily procession makes its way through the streets to the castle.
The finale of the three day event is to be a dance and music spectacle called The Dragon and The Horseman, performed by a Spanish theatre group and followed by a fireworks display on Sunday night.
