Castro Marim, the delightful town in the eastern Algarve, is holding the 16th Dias Medievais event, featuring the sounds, sights and tastes from the Middle Ages.
Running from August 22 to 25 in the fortified castle, the medieval festival attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Actors dressed in medieval costume bring life to this unique festival and there is jousting and juggling, snake charmers and fire eaters, theatre and music, royal banquets and plenty of gastronomic delights. The festival starts daily at 5pm.
