Portugal’s medicine bank (Banco Farmacéutico) is promoting a medicine collection day on February 16 through various chemists participating in the initiative.
A total of 110 chemists in the Alentejo, Algarve, Covilhã, Lisbon, Santarém and Setúbal regions will be raising awareness among customers about the importance of disposing of medicines and health productions that are no longer needed in order to help 67 institutions in those areas supporting underprivileged people.
Customers are thus encouraged to drop-off unwanted medicines on February 16, from 9am to 7pm, at participating chemists.
This is the fourth time a medicine collection day has taken place in Portugal since the bank was created in 2009.
