KATE AND Gerry McCann are to take a holiday for the sake of their other children but they will not be returning to Portugal and a break in the Algarve is “out of the question”.
The couple’s spokesman Clarence Mitchell told Sky News that Gerry and Kate McCann had “no fixed plans” on where they would be holidaying in the near future, adding: “They are entitled to a holiday like everyone else.”
“If they choose to have a holiday that is their decision and they would obviously have privacy in the same way as you or I do,” he said.
It is feared that if the McCanns returned to Portugal it would create a huge “media bun fight”. According to Clarence Mitchell, all Kate and Gerry want is to keep out of the media spotlight and provide as normal an upbringing as possible for their other children, Sean and Amelie, now aged three.
Meanwhile the Ben Affleck directed movie Gone Baby Gone has been released in the UK.
The film had been delayed because of similarities between the story based on a four year old girl snatched from her bed and the Madeleine McCann case.
