A 63-year-old man was this week sentenced to 24 years in prison for shooting his ex-wife and her boyfriend to death in Maçãs de Dona Maria, Alvaiázere.
The Criminal Court of Alvaiázere has also sentenced Eduardo Fernandes to pay €85,000 in compensation to his ex-wife’s family.
The crime occurred in September 2013, after the woman left Fernandes to start a new life with another man in the same parish. The court said the killer acted out of jealousy.
