One of the questions I get asked all the time is, “How is my posture, am I standing correctly?”
Take a look at the images below. Notice how each player has a slightly different address position due to his body type.
All players are well balanced and in a relaxed ready position. It is good practice on the range to lay a club or stick on the ground to indicate the intended target. Poor alignment can lead to a poor chain reaction and inconsistent shots.
The key points of a good address position are:
• Good Balance. The weight is on the balls of the feet.
• Knee flex for balance and stability and not to lose height.
• Arms hanging down.
Tension is a swing wrecker. As soon as you are ready, swing. Don’t take too long to think about what or how you want to play or swing, a tension will build up.
