Masquerade ball raises awareness of cardiac risk in young people

A fundraising masquerade ball in memory of Leanne “Loulabell” Faulkner, who died aged 15 of an undiagnosed heart condition, is taking place on August 6 at the Quinta dos Vales wine and art park in Estômbar from 7pm.

Being held for the fifth time, the event is organised by the Loulabell Foundation, which was established in Leanne’s memory to raise funds for the charity CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

Fundraising is done through ticket sales, donations, a raffle and an auction. In order to generate the most possible funds, the foundation relies on donations of raffle prizes and auction pieces from local businesses.

There will be welcome drinks on arrival, followed by a three-course meal and live entertainment. Tickets cost €60 for adults and €30 for children aged three to 12. Children under three go free.

For menu choices, see Facebook: The Leanne Faulkner Memorial Charitable Trust.
