The small village of Martim Longo in Alcoutim will host an “urban race” (circuito urbano) on September 3 (Saturday), open to both federated and non-federated athletes.
There will be several routes, ranging from 500 metres to 5.3 kilometres.
Anyone can sign up, no matter their nationality and whether they represent a club, a company, a school or are just running for fun.
Runners will be divided into several age categories. The top three performers of each category will win medals, as well as monetary prizes ranging from €50 to €100.
The race is scheduled to start at 6pm on Rua Dr. Antero Cabral.
To sign up, you must indicate your name, age, sex and explain if you are federated or not in an email to [email protected] or [email protected] until August 30.
The event is organised by Alcoutim council alongside the Algarve Athletics Association, the Martim Longo parish council, the Inter-Vivos Association, the Red Cross, GNR police and several local businesses.
Martim Longo is a small village in the borough of Alcoutim in the eastern Algarve, with a population of just over 1,000 people.
