Marking September 11

An exhibition of works to mark the 10th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks will be on display in Lisbon at the Museu da Fundação Arpad Szenes-Vieira.

Following a private opening on September 11, the exhibition will then be open to the public until November 13.

The exhibition has been organised by the US Embassy in Lisbon in association with the museum foundation and will be centred on the idea of memory and transition.

A spokesman from the US Embassy said: “With this homage to the past, we intend to look to the future and to praise individuals, communities and nations that have proved stronger than fear. We hope that the exhibition will show the paths that have been taken during the last 10 years and will also show that we are certain that terrorism will not win.”
