US marketing specialist Philip Kotler advised Portimão to create its own marketing agency during an international conference on marketing places at the city’s municipal theatre on June 24.

During the conference, Philip Kotler gave many tips on how to market a destination to the tourist market, including making use of the internet.

“We live in a visual world,” he said. “If a city doesn’t have a five minute video on You Tube with a description of the area and sites to visit, then it’s missing out on an opportunity.”
