THE MINISTER of Finance, Fernando Teixeira dos Santos confirmed last week that recent storms in the world’s financial markets are over.
The minister, who said that the period since August had triggered the sub-prime crisis and credit crunch, had proved a severe test for the system. The Portuguese Finance Minister likened the crisis in the world financial markets to a “shock wave” to which Portugal had the capacity to react.
