After a major haul of illegally fished octopus and “green crab” a little over a week ago, Tavira’s maritime police have scored another coup – confiscating a further 58.8 kg of octopus being transported without the due paperwork. The octopus that was in “legal conditions for sale” was later sold at the docks, with all the money reverting to the State. Underweight octopus was donated to a local charitable organisation.
