On January 27, the famous Portuguese Jazz singer will perform at Lagos’s Cultural Centre in a concert directed by German trombonist Ferdinand Von Seebach.
Portuguese Jazz singer Maria Anadon is joining the Algarve Jazz Orchestra for an exceptional performance directed by German Trombonist Ferdinand Von Seebach on January 27 at 21h30.
Maria Anadon is one of the most famous contemporary Portuguese jazz singers. With an enviable national and international career, she is a cross-over voice in several projects that go beyond the intricacies of jazz. “Maria Anadon has already recorded with our Orchestra, and it is always a renewed pleasure to welcome her”, says the Algarve Jazz Orchestra.
The concert will be directed by German trombonist Ferdinand Von Seebach, one of the most sought-after names on the Berlin music scene. A musician who also stands out for his compositions and orchestrations.
For Ferdinand, “Music is always a way of expressing something that words may not be able to express, reminding our souls of feelings and stories that we may know but do not know how to tell.”
The organisation reveals that “In this concert, we will present music that Ferdinand wrote for several projects in which he worked with his own Jazz Orchestra, the Fine Arts Big Band, founded nine years ago with drummer Stephan Genze. Ferdinand brings us original compositions and standards for a special night with these two big names on stage”.
Tickets for the performance cost €10 and can be purchased at the venue’s reception or through BOL.
Free parking is available in the Frente Ribeirinha (Avenida dos Descobrimentos) car park for concertgoers who present a stamp obtained at the Centro Cultural de Lagos ticket office upon returning to the car park. The offer only includes one hour of parking before and up to one hour after the performance.
