VALE DO Lobo art gallery is opening a new exhibition of the work of young Portuguese painter, Margarida Palma, today (December 16), at 7pm.
Margarida’s collection focuses on the idea that each person can assume many different personalities and have many emotions, states of being, strengths and weaknesses, which are constantly undergoing microscopic change in relation to the continually changing reality around us. She uses different colours, shapes and methods to transmit the idea of multiple facets.
Margarida was born in Lisbon in 1978. She studied Fine Arts in Porto and Lisbon, obtaining a degree in painting. Then, having had the opportunity to work with one of the best known engravers in Portugal, Bartolomeu dos Santos, completed a masters of art in engraving in London, where she now lives and works.
Margarida’s work is on show until January 31, 2006. Opening times are from 10am to 6pm everyday. For more information, call the art gallery on 289 353 327.
