HUNDREDS OF people marched down Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade in support of the right to marry for gays and lesbians. The parade was part of Portugal’s Gay Pride Day celebrations. Taking part in the march, organised by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transsexual Movement, were many gay community associations along with representatives of the political parties, Bloco de Esquerda (Left Block), the “Greens”, the Humanist Party and the Socialist Youth Party.
