Barreiro Câmara recently announced that the FC Barreirense and the Coina Community Centre will once again be representing Barreiro at the Half Marathon event, due to take place this Sunday (September 26). Maria João Escaleira and Clarisse ‘Sim-Sim’ will be performing their dance act and Eduardo Silva will be performing a funk/hip-hop set on the day. “We are confident they will do well,” said a local resident. The Portuguese Half Marathon event, sponsored by the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon (AML) for the fifth consecutive year, involves over three million athletes every year. To celebrate the câmara’s involvement, there will be an exhibition of sporting equipment on show at Pavilhão de Portugal in Barreiro today and tomorrow (September 24 and 25).For more information, call 212 068 209/11/17/19.
