Mar Shopping Algarve in Loulé is hosting a series of animal adoption fairs, the first of which will be held on Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1 from 10am to 8pm near Starbucks.
The goal is to find ‘forever homes’ for the animals in the care of Animal Rescue Algarve (ARA).
Visitors will be able to learn more about the history of each animal as well as everything they need to know about adopting a dog or a cat.
They will also be able to help out in other ways, such as by donating food and accessories such as leashes, collars, towels, beds and toys. These items can be left at the shopping centre’s new Woofland area starting on Friday (February 21) or at the adoption fair.
Two other adoption fairs are already planned: one on April 25 and 26 organised alongside Movimento Pró Animal de Faro, and the other on October 3 and 4 in support of Loulé’s Canil de São Francisco de Assis.
This is just the latest pet-friendly initiative launched by Mar Shopping, which in November inaugurated its ‘Woof Land’ area providing pet-sitting services for visitors as well as a series of workshops and training courses.
