Mar Shopping “open as unusual” as Portugal emerges from lockdown

Mar Shopping Algarve, IKEA Loulé and Designer Outlet Algarve, all located next door to each other, have reopened and are welcoming back clients after their forced closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.

All three shopping centres reopened their doors today (June 1), which marked the start of the third and largest phase of Portugal’s emergence from lockdown with the opening of shopping malls across the country (except for the Lisbon area).

Under the motto ‘Open as Unusual’, Mar Shopping Algarve is open from 10am to 10pm, with the exception of Pingo Doce, Arcádia and Padaria do Bairro which open an hour earlier.

The use of masks or face-shields inside the shopping centre is mandatory, “according to the decree law n.20/2020, May 1”.

IKEA Loulé is open from 10am to 9pm with a series of restrictions to ensure the “safety of clients and staff”.

Meanwhile, the outdoor fashion outlet Designer Outlet Algarve is welcoming guests from 12 noon to 8pm and has also taken a series of precautionary measures, all in the name of “safe shopping”.
