A giant fish-shaped wire sculpture, which aims to raise awareness about beach littering, has been unveiled at Manta Rota beach in Vila Real de Santo António.
The structure was donated to the local council by sculptor Carlos do Oliveira Correia.
It will be used as a plastic waste collection point and will be emptied at the end of the summer.
Hopes are that the visual impact of the sculpture slowly filling with waste will raise awareness about the dangers plastic poses to the environment.
