An unemployed Portuguese man has claimed he cannot find work as a heavy goods driver because he has been waiting for the appropriate licence for six years.
Forty-eight year old Armindo Rosa said he successfully passed the test in 2006 and has been seeking an explanation from the transport authority (IMT) since then.
The IMT have only answered that the case is being investigated.
“This has been going on for six years. It is a disgrace. I have been receiving job offers from foreign countries which I have to refuse because I do not have the adequate document,” said Armindo, who has been working sporadically in Vila Real de Santo António, where he lives.
