A 50-year-old man suffered 50% burns to his body on Sunday after setting light to himself. The horror, in Fiães, Sta Maria da Feira, appears to relate to an incident of domestic violence. Firemen reported that the man first doused himself in white spirit. His burns are described as “very bad”, while his female partner was also found to have various superficial injuries. The pair were both treated in hospital.
