Man on trial for shotgun murder of ex-wife tells court: “I only meant to scare her…”

A man with a history of domestic violence on trial for the shotgun murder of his former partner has told a court that he didn’t mean to kill her, just to scare her. He used a shotgun that he ‘happened to have in the car at the time’ and intended to shoot the windows of the terrified woman’s car. This all played out as the man was pursuing the woman in his own vehicle in parish of Grijó, Vila Nova de Gaia (Porto) in 2020.
