A 50-year-old biker was killed in a violent crash on the EN270 road in Sítio da Calçada (São Brás de Alportel). The accident took place at around 11.15am on Sunday morning (January 9) when the victim’s motorbike crashed into a car.
The 80-year-old car driver suffered light injusries, a source from GNR police told Lusa news agency.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the GNR’s accident criminal investigation unit.
Rescue operations involved eight members of São Brás de Alportel firefighters, the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) and GNR police.
