The 38-year-old Eritrean man suspected of raping and savagely beating a 67-year-old homeless woman in Albufeira last December has been formally accused of rape and attempted homicide.
The horrific ordeal happened in the covered ATM area of Millennium BCP bank, where the woman was apparently staying the night.
Local barman Cody Searle gave chase shortly after the attack, and managed to restrain the man until police arrived to arrest him (click here).
