FOLLOWING investigations into the causes of the fires in the Algarve last summer, Portimão’s police force has identified a man guilty of starting two fires on August 13 in the village of Vila Nova de Milfontes, Odemira. The fires burned 5,500sqm of forest and several houses and buildings of great historical value were put in danger. The 42-year-old, a stonemason by profession but currently unemployed, is a resident of the area that was burned.
