A 29-year-old man has been arrested for attempted murder in Olhão.
According to PJ police statement, the man attacked his former partner with a sharp weapon several times in front of her child, who was sleeping with her at the time.
A friend was able to break down the door of the room and stop the attack, after which the man fled before turning himself in hours later to PSP police.
The man was due to appear before a judge, while the victim is hospitalised.
