A 59-year-old man was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly killing his girlfriend’s grandmother in the home where they all lived together in Caliços, Faro.
Reports Correio da Manhã, the man is believed to have fatally stabbed the 85-year-old woman in the neck with a screwdriver after a quarrel between the two.
At the time the vicious attack happened, the victim’s granddaughter is said to have been “at work”.
The suspect fled after the attack but was tracked down by authorities a few hours later. According to CM, he is unemployed, has a criminal record and was due to appear before a judge.
