Mamamaratona6 is taking place this weekend, Sunday, October 15, starting at ExpoArade in Portimão at 10am.
It is the major annual fundraising event for the Associação de Oncológica do Algarve (AOA). Thanks to funds raised by previous Mamamaratona runs, it was possible for the AOA to purchase a mobile digital mammography unit and begin the screening programme.
It only costs five euros to enter Mamamaratona6 and you can choose your distance – five or eight km – according to your fitness level and you will receive a free T shirt. Registration can be made in person at the AOA stand at ExpoArade on Saturday, October 14 between 4pm and 6pm and on the day itself, Sunday, October 15, between 8am and 9.45am.
