It is still not too late to become part of the 10th annual Race for Life – Mamamaratona, taking place on Sunday, October 10 in Portimão.
You can still register tomorrow (Saturday) between 2.30pm and 6pm and on Sunday between 8am and 9.30am at the race start based at the Parque de Feiras e Exposicões in Portimão.
Race organisers are hoping that 10,000 participants will take part in the run, which aims to raise both funds and awareness about cancer, with money raised being used to help fund the building of a home in Faro where cancer patients will be able to stay while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Meanwhile, professional athletes will be joining the charity fun runners in the race including Olympic athlete Ana Dias who will be joined by Elly van Hulst, Carlos Cabral and veteran runner Daisy Dowse.
The race is to begin at 10am however there will be warm up exercises and information available from 8.30am.
Registration costs 7.50 Euros for adults and three Euros for children up to the age of 12.
