Around 30 children from Olhão and Almancil took part in special Christmas celebrations organised by the Hilton Hotel in Vilamoura and Conrad Algarve Hotel in Quinta do Lago in December. Wanda Crawford, president of ACCA, an Algarve charity supporting underprivileged children, was contacted by the hotels, which are part of the same group, for help in bringing together a group of children to spend a special day at the hotel units enjoying an early Christmas party.
Wanda Crawford said: “A letter to Santa Claus from each child was requested and then all the Conrad and Hilton staff pitched in to purchase the presents to make the dreams of the children come true.”
The children enjoyed several fun games including a scavenger hunt. Then lunch was served, after which the children waited eagerly by a huge Christmas tree for Santa to arrive.
With wide eyes and big smiles, the children were delighted by the various presents they received, including bicycles, games consoles and clothing.
