In the wake of ‘Russiagate’ (click here), it has been discovered that Lisbon city council isn’t the only one that has boobed monumentally when it comes to protecting Portuguese citizens’ personal data. Explains SIC, “more than half the municipalities in the country are violating data protection legislation”, essentially because ‘by law’ they should all have appointed someone to communicate directly with the national data protection commission, yet so far only 43% have managed this.
