The last and most important event in the 2011 Tavira Sailing Project series, the European Open ‘420’ Class Championships for both men and women, got under way on Wednesday.
Until the end of next week, 260 top sailors from 16 countries including 14 teams representing Portugal will be competing for European honours off the Algarve coast.
Meanwhile, Lagos Sailing Club’s YELLOW beat 34 rivals to claim first prize in this year’s 12th Regata dos Portos dos Descobrimentos.
