If you enjoy walks in the forest, you will be in for a treat on Saturday, September 20, at Parque das Merendas in the forest of Barão de São João, Lagos.
The event, entitled ‘Magical Music Walk’, is being organised by a group of local residents to raise money for Lagos fire fighters.
As hikers follow a specially marked trail, they will come across various musicians playing their instruments, in hope that donations will be plentiful.
Another route includes a path lined with poetry and art carved into surrounding stones.
There will be food and drinks for sale after people have concluded the circuits, as well as a concert at 5pm.
The Parque das Merendas is clearly signposted from the village of Barão de São João. It offers parking space, as well as a children’s play area.
The event, which begins at 2pm, is being coordinated by Carole Henchy.
