Maestro encourages expats to classical concerts in Lagoa

Two classical music concerts are due at Lagoa’s Centro de Congressos do Arade in Parchal.

The first is scheduled for April 30 (Saturday) at 9.30pm and will feature the Orquestra Sinfónica JOP, interpreting Dvořák’s famous Symphony no.9 (also known as the New World Symphony).

A week later (May 8), the Orquestra Euro Atlântica will take the stage at 6pm with Brahm’s Violin Concerto.

Maestro Armando Mota has promised “two great concerts” and invites the foreign community in the Algarve as “their support is needed to keep organising these kinds of events”.

“The more people come to these concerts and fill up concert halls, the better the events next year can be,” he explained.

Tickets for both events cost €8 and can be purchased at Lagoa’s São José convent.
