Godfrey said that Lisbon was a fantastic city, and praised Pavilhão Atlântico as the best large arena in Europe. “I know that many of the artists performing will have played there already, but I know that those who haven’t will be blown away by the venue,” he said.
The show will include a whole series of activities across the country prior to the event. Preparations, long since underway, include 7,000 rooms in hotels for the artists, crews, entourages, and commercial friends and partners of MTV from around the world. This year, there will be an opportunity for Portuguese youngsters to take part in the show’s marketing, TV spots, publicity and competitions.
