Scotland Yard detectives have been flying to Spain over the past two weeks to investigate new developments as part of a review of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Detectives have not released details of why they visited police in Barcelona for three days, but there have been reports that Madeleine was abducted in Portugal and possibly smuggled across the border to Spain.
According to sections of the British press, speculation has been fuelled due to the several sightings that apparently took place in Spain in the days following Madeleine’s disappearance.
Kate McCann wrote on the Find Madeleine website: “It is a big relief to us that our government finally agreed for a review to take place.”
